SSS FEATURED IN MEDIA FOR FILING SUIT AGAINST MACLAREN CHILDREN’S CENTER

Posted on: May 18, 2022

On May 16, 2022, Slater Slater Schulman LLP filed the first lawsuit, in a series of lawsuits that it will file, asserting that the County of Los Angeles was negligent in operating and overseeing a youth foster care facility that was known as MacLaren Hall. Slater Slater Schulman currently represents over two hundred fifty clients that were sexually assaulted at MacLaren Hall between 1961 and 2003. This week, the first 14 lawsuits were filed against the county for acts occurring from 1988 to 2001. Partner James W. Lewis was quoted “With this particular facility … there was overwhelming knowledge by the county,” James said. “They knew this type of behavior and abuse was going on and literally they did nothing about it.”
