John M. Rott is an Associate Attorney at Slater Slater Schulman, where he represents survivors of institutional child sexual abuse in litigation against corporate and governmental entities in Maryland.

An experienced civil litigator, John is a strategic and pragmatic advocate with a proven track record of trying complex cases and managing every stage of the litigation process. He takes a goal-oriented approach to every case, working closely with clients to understand the outcomes they seek and relentlessly pursuing those objectives. John believes that effective advocacy is built on trust, communication, and an unwavering commitment to advancing his clients’ interests.

Before joining the firm, John built an extensive litigation practice handling complex commercial disputes, employment matters, insurance defense, and other high-stakes civil litigation. His broad experience navigating complex legal issues has equipped him to successfully manage challenging cases and deliver favorable results for his clients.

Outside of his legal practice, John volunteers with his church and the American Red Cross, reflecting his ongoing commitment to serving his community.

John earned his B.A., with a double major in Economics and Political Science, from Hofstra University before receiving his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law. He was recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2026 and is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association.

John joined Slater Slater Schulman in March 2026, drawn to the firm’s national reputation for high-impact litigation and its commitment to holding powerful institutions accountable.
