Suleman Masood is an Associate Attorney in Slater Slater Schulman’s Maryland office, where he works with survivors of sexual abuse.

Suleman takes a “survivor-informed” approach to his practice—one that is trauma-informed, compassionate, and grounded in more than a decade of supporting survivors of complex trauma. He so fully embodies this approach that he coined the term “survivor-informed,” now widely adopted across the anti-trafficking field, including by the U.S. Departments of Health and Human Services, Justice, and State. He meets clients where they are, providing tactical, tailored counsel that supports both their legal needs and healing journey.

Prior to joining the firm, Suleman worked at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP, where he supported litigation in areas including sexual assault, human trafficking, employment, and antitrust. He also previously managed and oversaw federal programming through training and technical assistance on behalf of the Office for Victims of Crime, helping strengthen victim service responses at the local, state, and federal levels. Before his legal career, Suleman spent over 10 years in the anti-trafficking field, working to improve systems and services for survivors of complex trauma.

Suleman has received national recognition for his work, including being named a “Litigator of the Week” by Law.com for his role in Gomez-Echeverria et al. v. Purpose Point Harvesting, LLC, and being honored as “Litigator of the Year” by the Human Trafficking Legal Center in October 2025. He was also appointed by the President of the United States to serve on the United States Advisory Council on Human Trafficking from 2020 to 2024, where he served as Chair from 2020 to 2022. In this role, he advised the President’s Interagency Task Force to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons on federal anti-trafficking policy.

Suleman earned his B.S. in Criminology from California State University, Fresno, graduating magna cum laude, and his J.D. from the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and was selected as the 2024 Evening Class Speaker. He joined Slater Slater Schulman in May 2026, drawn to the firm’s strong record of holding institutions accountable, and is licensed to practice in Washington D.C. and Maryland state courts.
