Michael Cabral is a Senior Associate at Slater Slater Schulman, where he works on sexual abuse cases and complex civil litigation matters. With a background rooted in product liability, toxic torts, environmental law, and fraud litigation, Michael brings a thoughtful and strategic approach to every case he handles.
Known for being compassionate, thorough, and resourceful, Michael approaches each client relationship with empathy and understanding. He believes effective advocacy requires more than legal knowledge alone—it requires listening closely to clients, understanding their unique goals, and tailoring legal strategies to meet their individual needs. His ability to connect with clients and guide them through difficult legal matters has made him a trusted advocate throughout his career.
Michael began his legal career at a boutique toxic tort firm specializing in complex litigation. There, he gained extensive experience managing cases through every phase of the litigation lifecycle, from client intake through trial preparation. He later served as a Deputy District Attorney in the Special Prosecutions Region’s Environmental, Consumer Protection, and Cannabis Regulation Task Force, where he handled high-stakes civil and criminal matters involving environmental enforcement, consumer protection, and regulatory compliance.
Outside of his legal practice, Michael is deeply committed to civic and cultural enrichment in the downtown Los Angeles community he proudly calls home. Having attended law school, built his career, and established his family life in downtown Los Angeles, he is passionate about contributing to the area’s continued growth and success through his support of organizations such as the South Park Neighborhood Association, National Public Radio, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, American Contemporary Ballet, and GreySave. Michael also regularly mentors high school, college, and law students pursuing careers in the legal field and serves as a judge and mentor for Riverside County’s High School Mock Trial program.
Michael earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and his J.D. from Southwestern Law School. He joined the firm in 2026, drawn to its depth of expertise and unwavering commitment to client advocacy and is licensed to practice in California state courts.
