Steven Sohmer is a Law Clerk at Slater Slater Schulman, where he focuses on mass tort litigation.
Steven is a dedicated advocate for his clients, always keeping their best interests at heart. He begins each intake by understanding his client’s needs in an effort to develop attainable goals for their case. By maintaining contact throughout the legal process, Steven ensures his clients stay fully informed and confident as to how their claim is proceeding.
Prior to joining the firm, Steven was a legal intern for the Nassau County Comptroller’s Office, where he reviewed contracts and settlements and drafted memoranda with findings and recommendations for further handling. He also served as a legal intern for the Town of Oyster Bay, researching case law in an ongoing dispute against the New York American Water Company.
Steven was a former volunteer for the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency. On and off, Steven would dedicate his time to taking food donations for the food pantry that serves Veterans and their families.
Steven received his B.A. in English Literature from the State University of New York at Albany and his J.D. from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where he was awarded a full academic scholarship. Steven officially joined the firm in November 2022.
