  • Alexander James Pruefer is an Associate Attorney at Slater Slater Schulman, representing clients in class action suits and mass tort litigation through our Chicago office.

    Alexander always has his client’s best interests at heart, advocating for them with unwavering commitment. He prioritizes taking a deeply personal approach in every case, remaining readily accessible, and offering ongoing support.

    Prior to joining the firm, Alexander worked in data privacy for a multinational television company. He also represented clients in mass tort class actions for forest fire survivors and advocated for survivors of sexual assault. Alexander joined the firm in March 2024 as a temporary attorney advocating for sexual abuse survivors involved in the Boy Scouts of America litigation.

    Beyond his profession, Alexander continues to help others in various capacities. He serves as President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Jewish United Fund and generously volunteers his time to support PAWS Chicago. Alexander has traveled to 86 countries and resided in both Russia and China. Notably, Alexander proudly served as a neurosurgery intern in Prague in 2013 and was an English teacher in Shanghai from 2015 to 2016.

    Alexander’s educational journey is a testament to his broad expertise. He holds a B.A. in Psychology and Creative Writing from the University of Miami (FL), a J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago–where he was president of the International Law Society–an M.B.A. from Saint Xavier University Business School, and an M.A. from the European University of Saint Petersburg, Russia. Alexander is licensed to practice in Illinois state courts.
