Teri Nelson Jacoby is an Associate Attorney at Slater Slater Schulman, where she focuses her practice on civil litigation and sexual abuse cases.
With a sincere and approachable style, Teri builds strong client relationships grounded in trust and clear communication. She is a dedicated listener who values each client’s story and is passionate about guiding people through complex, deeply personal legal matters. Clients benefit from her straightforward communication and consistent, engaged approach throughout the litigation process.
Prior to joining Slater Slater Schulman LLP, Teri served as in-house counsel for the State Bar of California, FINRA, and The Nasdaq Stock Market. She also gained experience at both large law firms and boutique practices, working on employment law, corporate defense, and toxic tort litigation. This diverse background provides her with a well-rounded perspective on complex disputes and a strong foundation in high-stakes litigation.
In addition to her legal practice, Teri is actively involved in charitable and humanitarian efforts. She volunteers with DC Central Kitchen, a nonprofit focused on culinary job training and food insecurity. She is a long-time supporter of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. She also sponsors orphaned Palestinian children through Human Appeal, reflecting her ongoing commitment to humanitarian service.
Teri earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law. During law school, she was a member of the Santa Clara Law Review and participated in Moot Court. Teri joined Slater Slater Schulman in 2026, following her prior work with the firm as a contractor, where she found fulfillment in representing individuals in contrast to her earlier corporate defense practice. She is admitted to practice in California state courts, the District of Columbia, and Maryland.
