Jamie Meister is an Associate Attorney at Slater Slater Schulman, advocating for survivors of sexual abuse involved in the Boy Scouts of America litigation.
Jamie is a compassionate advocate who centers her practice on using effective and transparent communication to achieve successful results. She’s consistently available to meet her client’s unique needs and provides unwavering support to survivors throughout the legal process.
Prior to joining Slater Slater Schulman, Jamie gained comprehensive experience in a broad range of legal areas, including estate planning, insurance defense, personal injury law, securities, and antitrust law. This broad exposure has honed her ability to adapt to various legal challenges, providing well-rounded expertise and innovative solutions to her clients’ legal needs.
Additionally, Jamie worked as a contract document review attorney for several organizations, collaborating closely with quality control teams and clients on legal research and analysis across multiple disciplines. Jamie also contributed to high-profile litigation in these roles, including the Deepwater Horizon disaster and the ongoing opioid epidemic.
Jamie volunteers with several Illinois-based non-profits and raises funds for local charities. She has supported the Immigration Detention Center Project, her local Expungement and Record Sealing Summit, and serves as a Certified Master Gardner through the University of Illinois, educating the community and maintaining local gardens. Additionally, Jamie is a licensed foster parent, providing long-term and/or emergency care for children in need.
Jamie received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois and her J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law. She has been a valuable member of our firm since February 2024 and is licensed to practice in Illinois state courts.
