Meet Adrienne Murphy

Senior Associate

Adrienne Murphy is a Senior Associate at Slater Slater Schulman with 17 years of legal experience to offer her clients. As a seasoned civil litigator, Adrienne is a priceless asset to the firm’s sexual abuse department, fiercely advocating for survivors of sexual abuse and assault, with an emphasis on abuse against minors.

Adrienne’s practice is grounded on gaining her client’s trust and respect. She understands the global implications that survivors of sexual trauma battle and the barriers that arise when recounting painful events. With genuine care, Adrienne empowers her clients to find their voices and stand up for their rights. Her pragmatic approach allows her to establish attainable legal goals aligned with her client’s best interests to secure a favorable conclusion for individuals and their families.

Adrienne’s undivided commitment to the law has resulted in several achievements and recognitions, including being named a Rising Star by Mid-South Super Lawyers from 2014-2020. In law school, Adrienne served as an Associate Editor for the Arkansas Law Review as well as a Note and Comment Editor for the inaugural edition of the Journal of Food Law and Policy, one of only two students from her graduating class who were named to the editorial board of both journals simultaneously.

Prior to the firm, Adrienne was a plaintiff attorney for 17 years at a boutique-sized firm representing matters pertaining to disability claims, workers’ compensation, and personal injury cases. In that time, she successfully handled hundreds of administrative hearings and negotiated the largest workers’ compensation settlement in firm history.

In addition to her practice, Adrienne serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law, where she teaches upper-level legal writing. She also serves on the Advisory Board to the University of Arkansas Dean of Libraries and is a member of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, Arkansas Bar Association, and Washington County Arkansas Bar Association. Prior to this, Adrienne joined the Board of Directors for the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter in 2014 and served as Secretary of the Board for three years. She was also an active member of the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas from 2005 to 2012, at which time she became a sustaining member.

Adrienne received her B.A. in English and Communication from the University of Arkansas, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. She went on to graduate magna cum laude with her J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law. Adrienne is licensed to practice in Arkansas State courts and the U.S. Federal Courts of the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas. She officially joined the Slater Slater Schulman team in September 2022, eager to advocate with a firm that matched her passion for helping survivors of trauma obtain justice.
