Carlos Ullfig is a Law Clerk at Slater Slater Schulman with nearly 30 years of valuable law experience.
Carlos obtained his J.D. from the University of Buenos Aires. He graduated in the top 10% of his class and frequently volunteered at the university’s law clinic representing low-income clients under the supervision of licensed attorneys. Carlos then received his Masters in International Business at the Ecole des Ponts Business School, France, through the University of Belgrano, Argentina. After moving to the United States, Carlos obtained his LLM through the University of Southern California and is currently awaiting his results from the California State Bar.
While studying law at the University of Buenos Aires, Carlos was selected as a TA for the Honorable Judge Dr. Arturo R. Yungano, who inspired him to embrace law as a fundamental tool to shape and change the world around him. Working as a sole practitioner after graduation, Carlos represented hundreds of clients in civil and commercial law, many times pro bono, to help others pursue the justice they deserved.
Carlos worked for the Central Bank of Argentina as a law clerk for three years prior to graduation and was later hired on as an attorney, remaining in this role for 10 years. He managed thousands of cases per year, recovering hundreds of thousands from debtors to bankrupt financial companies in addition to working as a sole practitioner outside of the institution. After, Carlos accepted a position as a Legal Advisor to the Secretary of Traffic and Transport at the newly created Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, where he established new regulations, judicial jurisdiction, law proposals, and more.
Outside of the law, Carlos served as the first President of the Chamber of Taxi-Cabs Companies and created the largest app-based Taxi-Cab service company in Buenos Aires. In 2009, he spoke in front of 5K people in May Square at a protest against newly proposed regulations that would affect taxi drivers in Buenos Aires. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40cdcSBfEI0)
