  • Priya Thomas is an Associate Attorney at Slater Slater Schulman, representing survivors of sexual abuse under the Maryland Child Victims Act.

    Priya genuinely advocates for her clients and values transparency throughout the legal process. She communicates clearly and frequently with survivors to establish trust and confidence. Priya’s commitment empowers her clients to make educated decisions about their cases and achieve a sense of closure from their past trauma.

    Priya is an active volunteer in her community, such as tutoring refugee children, dog walking for a local animal shelter, participating at local food donation centers, and volunteering at a battered women’s shelter. She is also a former volunteer facilitator for the Teen Court program at Baltimore City’s Juvenile Justice Center. Priya is most excited to start a volunteer opportunity with the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights, most likely serving as a Child Advocate.

    Prior to joining the firm, Priya was an Associate at a law firm in Linthicum Heights, MD, practicing family and domestic law, including divorce, custody/guardianship of children and vulnerable adults, CPS investigations, and protective order matters. During law school, she clerked for the American Bar Association’s Immigrant Justice Project. Additionally, she practiced as a student attorney in Carey Law’s Gender Violence Clinic, representing incarcerated women in Maryland.

    Priya received her B.A. in International Relations with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Rochester and her J.D. from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Francis King Carey School of Law. In law school, Priya received the Maryland Law Scholar, was a semifinalist in the 2021 Morris B. Myerowitz Moot Court Competition, and ranked fifth best oralist at the Boston Regional level of the ABA’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition in 2022.

    Priya joined Slater Slater Schulman in February 2024 and is licensed to practice in the state of Maryland.
