  • Carlie Spear is an Associate Attorney at Slater Slater Schulman, bringing over sixteen years of experience in criminal and family law to the firm. She proudly advocates for child sexual abuse survivors in our Louisana office and played a key role in the firm’s Boy Scout of America campaign.

    Carlie adopts an empathetic approach with each client, professionally guiding them through their past trauma. Her client-centered methodology is designed to achieve the best possible outcomes, fostering a sense of closure and healing for those who need it most.

    Prior to joining Slater Slater Schulman, Carlie served as a prosecutor in Maryland, focusing on developing local Drug Treatment Court programs in Wicomico County. She later practiced criminal defense and family law, concentrating on domestic violence cases and advocating for children suffering from physical and sexual abuse.

    Carlie is deeply committed to pro-bono work, dedicating dozens of hours yearly to providing legal aid for domestic violence survivors. Her dedication earned her a Pro Bono Service award in Caroline County, Maryland, recognizing her impactful contributions to the community.

    Carlie earned her B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland and her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law. She has been an integral part of the Slater Slater Schulman team since August 2024 after contributing to the Spring 2024 BSA campaign. Carlie is licensed to practice in both Maryland and Louisiana.

    Outside of her professional work, Carlie enjoys traveling and participating as a jazz and blues dance performer with NOLA Chorus Girls in New Orleans.
