  • Matthew Shock is a Senior Associate at Slater Slater Schulman, representing survivors of sexual abuse in New York and New Jersey.

    Matthew is a dedicated advocate who takes a trauma-informed approach to his work. He prioritizes his clients’ emotional safety and autonomy as he guides them through each step of the legal process. By setting clear expectations and maintaining transparency from the start, he builds strong, effective working relationships with his clients.

    Prior to joining the firm, Matthew litigated cases focused on child sexual abuse– seeing these cases from inception through resolution. Matthew earned his Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Business Administration from Brooklyn College, and his J.D. from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University–where he graduated summa cum laude and ranked in the top five of his class. In 2018, Matthew was the recipient of the Winifred Sobie Pasternack Award for Contributions to Civil Liberties. He has also co-authored an article in the Westchester Bar Journal titled “Significant Changes in Jurisdiction Over Foreign Corporations in New York.”

    Matthew has been a respected member of Slater Slater Schulman since 2026 and is licensed to practice law in both New York and New Jersey state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
