J.G. Piper Boukis is an Associate Attorney at Slater Slater Schulman, advocating for survivors of sexual abuse as part of the firm’s Adult Sexual Abuse litigation department.
Piper zealously litigates for survivors, using creative problem-solving tactics to obtain favorable results. Piper prioritizes easing concerns about the legal process and uses a trauma-informed ear to guide survivors through every step of litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Piper worked as an associate at a major law firm in New York City, working in their complex litigation and trials practice representing U.S. and international clients in civil litigation, arbitration, and internal investigations. In this role, Piper filed several amicus curiae briefs with federal courts in pro bono matters, including a brief on the history of gun control in criminal law filed with the U.S. Supreme Court. After that, Piper served as an associate at an elite boutique litigation firm representing E. Jean Carrol–a sexual abuse survivor suing former President Donald Trump for sexual assault under the Adult Survivors Act.
Piper first started working with survivors of sexual abuse as a student at Johns Hopkins University, volunteering for the school’s peer-to-peer sexual crisis hotline. She also volunteered with the organization Sanctuary for Families in law school, where she worked with survivors of intimate partner violence.
Piper received her B.A. with honors in International Studies and Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, where she was a National Society of Collegiate Scholars member. She received her J.D. from Columbia University of Law as a Harlan Fiske Scholar, serving as the symposium editor for the Journal of Gender and Law, a Williams Institute Moot Court member, a Peer Mentor for first-year law students, and a volunteer with the Courtroom Advocates Project. Additionally, Piper served as a judicial extern at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Piper joined Slater Slater Schulman in February 2024 and is licensed to practice in New York state courts and the U.S. District Court of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
