  • Halley Lane is an Associate Attorney at Slater Slater Schulman, representing survivors of sexual abuse and assault in Illinois.

    Halley is a passionate and empathetic advocate who guides her clients through the legal process with patience and care–helping them feel supported every step of the way. By combining zealous advocacy with a personable approach, she makes sure her clients feel heard, informed, and confident in the decisions they make.

    Prior to joining the firm, Halley worked as a legal fellow and attorney for a policy organization in Chicago focused on promoting equity and expanding representation in Cook County courts. She also gained hands-on courtroom experience through internships with the Cook County Public Defender and a judicial externship in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. During law school, she was recognized as a Northwestern Rivkin Law and Public Advocacy Fellow. She spoke at multiple Cook County Board of Commissioners meetings on criminal and civil justice issues.

    Outside of her practice, Halley gives back to the community as a legal observer for the National Lawyers Guild, helping protect the rights of protesters.

    Halley received her B.A. in English and Criminology with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Florida, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Halley joined Slater Slater Schulman in January 2026 and is licensed to practice in Illinois state courts.
