Angelo Macaluso is a Senior Associate at Slater Slater Schulman. As both an experienced prosecutor and defense attorney, Angelo brings a unique perspective to the sexual abuse cases he handles.
Angelo is a fierce advocate for survivors and uses a hands-on approach to understanding their needs. He takes his time getting to know his clients to build trust and rapport for a successful attorney-client relationship.
Angelo’s prior legal experience includes working for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office for nearly 5 years—where he prosecuted various types of victim-sensitive cases. Thereafter Angelo opened his own criminal defense law firm in June 2018, where he defended cases involving sexual abuse. Working on both sides of the aisle has given Angelo the unique ability to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of a case from both perspectives to yield successful results for his clients.
Outside of the firm, Angelo serves on the Board of Directors for his local little league. He frequently secures sponsorship opportunities for the league and raises money for kids to participate throughout the year.
Angelo received both his B.A. and J.D. from Maurice Hofstra Law School, where he was active in the Hofstra Trial Advocacy Association, awarded for Best Prosecution Team in the Intramural Trial Advocacy Competition, and was a recipient of the Lawrence Kessler Advocates Scholarship. Angelo joined Slater Slater Schulman in February 2023 and is licensed to practice in New York State and the United States District Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts.
