Meet Kevin Gunther

Associate

Kevin Gunther is an Associate Attorney at Slater Slater Schulman, representing survivors of child sexual abuse. As a committed advocate and skilled trial attorney, Kevin has dedicated his entire career to standing up for those in need and giving back to the community.

Kevin considers the gratitude from his clients his most significant achievement as a lawyer. He empowers survivors by listening to their stories to build deep-rooted professional relationships based on trust. Kevin’s straightforward approach ensures his clients are well-informed about their cases and not lost in the legal complexities of the system.

Prior to the firm, Kevin was a public defender for Brooklyn Defender Services in Criminal Defense Practice for over five years, where he followed his passion for serving marginalized communities.  He provided broad-based legal counsel to hundreds of clients ensnared in the criminal justice system and handled countless felony and misdemeanors cases at all stages of proceedings.  In defending his clients in criminal cases, Kevin coordinated with immigration and family law attorneys to reduce the risk of collateral consequences that arise from contact with the criminal justice system.  Thereafter, Kevin transitioned into private practice, handling a caseload of civil litigation matters, primarily on the defensive side, for issues concerning negligence in automobile cases.

Kevin received his B.S. in Business Administration from Fordham University before obtaining his J.D. from St. John University School of Law. Kevin joined Slater Slater Schulman in August 2023 for the opportunity to fiercely advocate on behalf of survivors of trauma and is licensed to practice in New York State.
