Eric Ovitz is an Associate at Slater Slater Schulman and a relentless supporter of survivors of sexual trauma. He frequently represents cases pertaining to the areas of child abuse and sexual assault in both litigation and trial proceedings.
Possessing a zealous desire to advocate for his clients, Eric encourages survivors to speak up and speak out against their abusers. Abusers can be individuals, organizations, institutions, or other, and are incredibly intimidating for survivors to address without support. Eric’s clients find security in his tireless dedication and genuine concern for their best interests. He empowers survivors to harness their voices to achieve a sense of closure on the path to justice.
Eric is a member of the California Lawyers Association and has already received several notable recognitions for his efforts and commitment to trial work. He was named a Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law Public Service Star upon graduation for his extensive work in the public sector, and selected as a Note and Comment Editor on Northwestern Law’s, Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. Eric was also honored with placement on the Dean’s List throughout his second and third years at Northwestern Law.
Prior to the firm, Eric clerked for several States’ Attorney’s Offices during his time in Illinois, and clerked for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, Major Crimes Division. He was the Chief Law Clerk for the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office in Illinois where he led the Conviction Integrity Unit. Eric also clerked for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the Narcotics and Alternative Treatment Courts. After law school, Eric was a clerk for an elite national litigation firm, where he assisted in several high profile litigation matters and successful arbitrations.
Eric received his Bachelor of Sciences from Northwestern University and his Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. Passionate about representing survivors of child sexual abuse, Eric sought a firm that shared his relentless desire for justice. He joined the Slater Slater Schulman team in May 2022 for their tireless commitment to those who have endured severe trauma and their mission to advocate for clients around the country.
Eric is permitted to practice in California State courts and the United States District Court, Central District of California. In his free time, Eric enjoys advocating for animal rights. He is active in supporting and volunteering with the Humane Society and the ASPCA.
