Danielle von Strandtmann is an Associate at Slater Slater Schulman regarded highly for her compassionate and devoted approach to her clients. Dedicated to seeking justice for those whose rights have been infringed upon, Danielle is a fierce advocate for survivors of sexual abuse and frequently handles claims involving the Child Victims Act and the ongoing Boy Scouts of America bankruptcy litigation.
Danielle’s success with her clients is rooted in her authentic ability to foster a genuine connection. She predominantly focuses on opening a dialogue with survivors on their personal accounts of sexual abuse. Knowing the immense trauma that can accompany these recollections, Danielle enables her clients to speak freely and openly. It is of paramount importance to her to create an atmosphere where a survivor feels safe and trusts that their concerns and goals for the legal process will always be heard.
In addition to working with survivors of sexual abuse, Danielle has experience in bankruptcy law and trademark infringement issues. Danielle first began working with bankruptcy clients during law school and was heavily involved with the Pro-Bono Bankruptcy Mortgage & Foreclosure clinic. This role inspired Danielle to take on an internship with a bankruptcy firm, where she conducted extensive research on bankruptcy exemptions in a Chapter 7 proceeding.
Outside of the firm, Danielle is a former active member of the Nassau County Bar Association, on behalf of which she served as the Touro Student Ambassador during law school. She is an avid animal rights supporter and is passionate about inspiring legislative change regarding animal cruelty. Alongside adopting a vegan lifestyle, Danielle plans to begin volunteering at local animal sanctuaries to expand her advocacy efforts.
Danielle received her B.A. in English from Stony Brook University in 2015 before graduating cum laude with her J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2019, where she was the recipient of both a Merit and Achievement Scholarship. She also received six CALI Awards for Academic Excellence during her studies, including excellence in Pre-Trial Litigation and the Bankruptcy & Mortgage Foreclosure Clinic. Danielle proudly joined the team at Slater Slater Schulman in June 2020.
